Automated Order Intake: New Shopify Order → Monday.com Board Items with Multi-Branch Routing
Problem:
Every new Shopify order had to be manually re-entered into the Monday.com production board, staff copied order details, assigned groups, and created items by hand, leading to entry errors, missed orders during peak volume, and a bottleneck between sales and production.
Solution:
Built a Make.com scenario triggered by new Shopify orders. The workflow pulls the full order payload, processes it through multiple data transformation modules, then feeds into a multi-level Router with 10+ branches. Each branch handles a different product type or order category, creating the Monday.com item in the correct board and group, populating all relevant columns (customer name, order details, quantities, shipping info), and sending a Gmail notification to the assigned team. Additional sub-branches handle edge cases and secondary board updates.
Result:
Every Shopify order now auto-populates the correct Monday.com production board within seconds of purchase, eliminating manual data entry and ensuring no order is missed regardless of volume.
